Hi All,

I found a couple of quarter coins today with the same error. I don't know they are common are not. Is it worth to keep? Please give me your thoughts.

I see coin contact marks from Post Strike Damage ( PSD). It's not an error and is common. Not a keeper.

You're welcome. One thing to remember is usually anything incuse on the coin is 99% damage most of the time. That 1% would be Struck Through errors.

Also consider the devices your looking at. Note they are incuse. Sunk into the coin. So coin contact will sometimes appear like it flows behind it. But because if it on the surface of the field, it makes it look like it flows behind the devices.Note the last image. That shows the incuse marks on the coin. Just PSD. (Post-Strike-Damaged)

Do we know or sure that all of these are incuse? Could that be a die chip in front of the C?

That sure looks like it is in relief rather than incuse, but maybe it is just the pic.

Hi Errers and Varietys and Coop,

Your information is a big help for someone new like me. I still have a long way to go and need help from you guys as well as other members in here.

By the way, I looked from multiple angles from the Microscope (1000x) and it seems to me there was a die chip in front of the letter C. Could you please confirm?
