So-so condition, common year/MM. His "branding" seems to be endless chatter in the listing verbiage, and a "lifetime guarantee of authenticity."

Wow! $10 bucks for the coin and $70 for the piece of paper. I'm clearly doing something wrong.

On the plus side, the coin was originally listed at $200, so the buyer saved $120 dollars.

Other than 3 pages of background and coin history who would pay that? 2 seconds on google and you could buy nicer examples on any of the websites that sell silver and gold coins.

You don't even have to go to google, just search in ebay for the exact same item. I looked at a couple of more of the seller's listings. He does put a lot of effort into his listings. You have to give him that.

Whether P.T. Barnum ever said it or not, It certainly seems to be true that "There's a sucker born every minute."

I have certainly had my turn a time or two.

Junk silver. I suspect the results were manipulated to look like it sold. That piece of paper is a tool of a scammer.

Thank you for the reality check. I'm pretty new here, and I thought it was possible that I was missing something valuable about that coin.

The ebay listings reminded me of a notorious used safety razor seller in the mid-2000's. He'd claim that his refurbishing made them "better than new," but we'd laugh at them on shaving forums and hope he didn't fool anyone.
