Machine20, probably $500+ closer to 1k if I had to guess. Wouldn't sell it for a few years, let the suspense build. Or sell it now with the hype, no clue

GrapeCollects, If I had to guess, that would still depend on the grade of the slabbed coin. I think absolutely you could get $500-$1000 for it slabbed immediately from the speculators on ebay, possibly even more than that because it has the "First find 1 of 2" pedigree to it, over time though, it would depend on how it grades and if there are many others that grade better. still the encapsulated qualifier as the one of the first two finds may give it it's own value to someone out there even if it's graded lower than others. easy enough to keep that as a keepsake like a trophy of the victory, and get others slabbed as they become more available for sale or a better example. I don't think I'd part with it if it was me. Like I said, regardless of the grade, it's like winning a race or something and yeah, I'd want to keep the medal or trophy.

The people I've talked to at PCGS think that mine could bring in 5k right now. That's purely based on the amount of hype and also the label it has. But there's a couple auction house's that have shown interest in the coins. I'm sure me and the other guy will be receiving calls or emails from most of them after they put out the press release with our names later today or tomorrow. I think the label is the most important factor because they will be having a registry set for these 5 quarters from 2019 with the W and the first discovered will have a very high weighted score. There's going to be prizes given for the set with the highest rating, so I'm sure there's a handful of collectors that have the crazy high rating for their sets that will want the first discovered label to boost their score. The coin graded at ms65, which honestly I was a little surprised about as I was guessing 63 or 64 at the most. The other coin was a 66. But he found it in a box of quarters that contained 7 and he submitted the best 1 of those 7.

MS65, Awesomesauce. Don't forget there are four more designs with a W mintmark to look for.

Can't get new rolls in my area so I am pretty much out of the hunt. But MS-65 is awesome!

Congrats on the MS65, I was thinking 63 or 64 myself. Now, I saw on PCGS, they are giving $2K for the first American Memorial park and will have a reward for each W mintmark quarter for the first find. GET TO WORK! Time to hit some more gas stations!

Quote: The people I've talked to at PCGS think that mine could bring in 5k right now. A couple grand seems like a reasonable estimate to me. I actually wouldn't be surprised if the other one was more like 10k. It's not the exact same but the family who bought the very first baseball coins for sale was offered 5 figures for them. The first gold kennedy sold at least once for 5 figures and then ended up with a collector for a 100k. Given that there's two here I wouldn't expect those types of prices but I would be absolutely shocked if it sold under $1000
