Thinking this must be a tapered planchet. The rims, on one side, both obverse and reverse, are high and sharp. Thick tapered planchet ? Thanks for looking and for any input.

Not a Tapered Planchet. More of a Tilted Die strike issue.

Might check the edge and diameter all around to rule out any collar issues as well. Thanks, Doug.

Note how the rim is wider on the dime below?

Thank you for the replies folks. So it is a tilted die strike on an overweight planchet. I need to invest in a pair of calipers. One of the tools of the trade that I'm missing. Thanks again

Thank you Coop. For some reason I keep thinking the "normal"

weight is 2.4. I need to remember it's 2.5
