I have recently found a 1972 Roosevelt dime that is lacking any sign of having a mint mark. I have not been able to find any details on the internet about this except for one other person asking the same question on a different web site 4 weeks ago, there shows no response to their question. Does anybody know anyting she's literally about this error if that's what it is? I will add pictures as soon as I'm able to.

to CCF. no mint mark means it was minted in Philadelphia.
No added value because it has no mint mark.

It wasn't until 1980 they started putting the "P" mintmark on R. dimes. However, there are some post '79 dimes out there that lack mintmarks. There's currently a 1982 "No P" dime for sale on ebay.

I have been researching this and from what I have found the ones that have no mint mark are proof no s. and have some value. I have seen them on an auction site for as much as $350. it happened on years 70 to 75 proof only.

Note on the images above three are proof dimes. Mirrored fields. Note the one that is not a proof dime. 1982. It's a business strike coin. Your coin is a business strike coin. No mirrored fields on them. That is the difference.
