Hello,

Here's front edge pics of Liberty on my well worn 1922 S Peace. Is this Machine Doubling or die doubling? I assume there is no VAM number for it if it's Machine Doubling.

I'm no expert..just a student of Coops and all the members of CCF...but I'd say Machine Doubling ,looks like she took a hit on the chin...and I think all Morgans and Peace dollars have a VAM #...cant wait to see what the pros say..

Thanks Coinfrog. I just noticed some doubling on LI and slight doubling on IN. I did an ebay search of Peace dollars, any year, using the words "doubling" "doubled" which found 370 listings. Some were double die with VAM numbers. For 1922-S specifically there were 13 listed. It seems Machine Doubling on Peace dollars is rather common and does not merit a VAM number. They're still fun to have. I also noticed on mine what looks like a rim Cud or lamination at end of eagle tail feathers?

It's flat doubling so it's Machine Doubling (MD).
