I have two 1945 D Lincoln Wheat Pennies. On one of them the mint mark is very close to the year, on the other it's lower. Are one of these an error coin? I'll try to post a picture. Thanks!

First, to the forum! Now Up until 1989 mintmarks were hand punched into the die, therefore every die had a different mintmark position. You have a Totally normal coin.

As long as the MM is below the date and to the right of the bust,
it is within spec.

Now if you had a mintmark that looks like this one:
1945D-1MM-017 (Discovery piece)
1945-D-Penny-Mint-Mark-Error?
They are called a RPM. D/D
