Any chance of throwing a little more light on those obverse fields?

MS64 unless those field lines are on the slab. In which case I'll go 64+

WOW, that reverse is struck-up nicely, those breast feathers very strong, however ? scratches ? in left field and right of America. Obverse appears very nice as well. 64

I'm in for the 48 hours deal, but I'm not going to release it until someone gets it lol
I know everyone always goes conservative and that's the smart bet, but sometimes you got to bet outside the box.
For instance, the last one I put up was a 64, everyone agreed, and I mean everyone.
First for any thread I read here.
Now why would I get another 64, and throw it right back out?
Ever see Patch Adams? Sometimes you have to look beyond the fingers lol.

Depending on which TPG slabbed it, I could very easily see this one going MS 65. ANACS and PCGS probably would go 65. I think NGC would go 64. I personally can't get to 65, however. IMHO, the obverse would hit 65, but the knock on the tip of the eagle's right wing (our visual left) and the field scratches to the left of the eagle's lower right wing and at 3:00 hold the reverse to a 64. (The scratches to the left of the wreath seem to be on the slab.) I am at a blended 64 grade on this one.

PCGS bumps coins up (+ 0.5 to 1.0 grades) or knocks them down (as much as -2.0 grades) for eye appeal. Since this is PCGS, I'm sure they have it as 65. The coin has really nice eye appeal, and that would cause them to bump the technical grade. This is one of many reasons why Bluesheet prices for some PCGS 65 Morgans have dropped and why some NGC 65 Morgans trend higher. If PCGS has it as 65, I definitely disagree with the grade. This coin is a solid 64, all day. IMHO, it should trade above a generic 64 because of the eye appeal, but it isn't a 65. If I saw this coin at a show, I'm a buyer or seller at 64, with the haggling centered on the amount of value bump for eye appeal. JMHO. I know others will disagree. It's a really beautiful coin and would rock any collection. Thanks for sharing it! EDIT: If I saw this at a show, I'd price haggle about 1/3 of the way between 64 and 65. The eye appeal is well worth that bump.

Ms-65. The obverse is easily 65+ with the only major negative being the hits by the lips. The reverse on the other hand is below 65, check out 3pm and 10pm and the marks next to both wings. I try not to be conservative, but rather consistent based on the many others of similar grades I've seen.
