There are some very knowledgible people here, in nearly every aspect of numismatics.
Can you post some pics of your pieces?

Many thanks I have a small hoard of them 16 in total, they will be handed in next week and I would like them identified before I do so.

to the community I have recently started collecting English hammered coins so I might be wrong with my ID, but I believe your coin is a short cross penny of Henry II. I'm moving this thread over to the ancient/medieval coin section for more comments.

Henry II, class 1b, Oxford, moneyer Owein. North 963; Spink SCBC 1344. Rev: +OWEIN (dot) ON (dot) OXEN (Reverse photo should be rotated 90 degrees anti-clockwise). Class can be difficult to sort out but according to North, only class 1b is known for this moneyer at this mint and I see nothing in the style of your coin to contradict that.

In the future please start a new thread when adding coins.
Maybe Kushanshah can say for sure, my best guess would be Henry II based on the shape of the hair curls.

Thanks its part of a HOARD as stated so there is every chance all the coins are from the same period but not guaranteed, its class and moneyer I am interested in I know its Henry 11, cant I leave them all in the same post for my own reverence.

You would get more views and comments if they are in a separate thread, however if they are all from the same hoard it's OK to keep them together in one thread.
