Hi all - New to coin roll hunting (edited-I previously said I was cherry picking but Google said otherwise.) But I think I found a decent coin. Not sure what to call the error? Looks like a part of a penny was struck over the obverse of nickel? Not sure what was struck over reverse. Thanks :)

Looks like a mint sport, released into circulation by a charitable mint employee.
A long way from the first time this sort of thing has been done.

British mint employees did this sort of thing, as a protest against the Tower Hill Mint in London to be closed, in the late 1960's. The employees did not want to move to Llanstrisant (Wales) to keep their job.
They deliberately produced all sorts of weird errors and threw them over the boundary wall of Tower Hill Mint, for lucky passers - by to pick them up.

Respectfully I have to disagree with sel-691..looks like glue or epoxy to me, soak the coin in acetone or nail polish and it should dissolve or lift off. Oh,and to CCF

Greasy Fingers...I think you're quite right! I've looked a bit closer. I'm thinking now that once coin struck over another would not be see-through like this one is. Can't believe someone would take the time to mess with a coin like this. Unbelievable. Thanks for your input!

I could possibly agree:
It may be impression in epoxy on the coin.
I have seen this type of thing before.

Need an 'in hand' inspection to confirm.

That's glue residue on your coin. Not an error, just Post Strike Damage ( PSD).

Just glue, not even PSD, soak in either some water or acetone depending on the type of glue and the glue is gone along with the "damage".
