After a failed effort on a 1947 nickel I made extra sure on this one. Yes, it is an honest DDO-001 and possibly quite rare as it is not on Brian's site.

Although I am not looking at many of the nickels other than for Hennings, I glanced at this one for no particular reason and thought I saw more MD. But no, put it under the scope and it's the real deal. Fairly strong doubling across all obverse devices.

1949-S Jefferson nickel doubled die DDO-001 (die marker is die scratch through W of WE)

Thanks folks! Seems like there may be some interesting things to find, but I just skimmed over 7000 nickels and most of what I saw was MD and LDS stuff. Honestly did not look hard at more than a handful of the things and sure I missed dozens of varieties, but nickels really aren't my thing and this big lot of them didn't change my mind. No Hennings, but I was only looking for the goof on the R in PLURIBUS not weighing them. One 1955 D/S OMM-004, a couple 1941 "large S" and while I wasn't looking for them I pulled 3 1950-D out as well. These are all album knockouts from a dealer so probably more 50-D in there but again nickels aren't my thing and I didn't even think to look for them until I was almost all the way done going through them.

The only ones I'm going to go over more closely are the 1938, 1939 and proofs. Went through five rolls of 1939-P and found one DDR-001. Looks like maybe a DDO-001 and maybe a WDDO-002 on the 1939-D coins. Haven't got to the 39-S, any of the about two rolls of 1938 coins, nor the three rolls of proofs yet.
