I found this at a gift shop yesterday and decided to post it because of the damage. I know this may be a error caused by something other than a mint error, just curious about if I should keep it or not. Also, if you rotate the reverse, you'll notice the scratches are almost in the same place on each side as if somthing was clamping it.

I would guess that those are wire cutter marks. They can cut cents pretty easily. Maybe someone was bored.

An genuine error can only be created by the Mint, anything else is just damage and this one is definitely damaged

Yeah...looks like tool marks, done long ago.
