More of an issue with double light sources. The overall size of the devices are normal. Not a doubled die.

I see the splits on the top and bottom of the 3. Do me a favor and take some closeup pics of the word LIBERTY if you would please. Coop may have a point about the lighting so the closeups of the word LIBERTY will sure help.

A close up of "LIBERTY" would be helpful.
Errers and Varietys.

Here's a close up of LIBERTY. Please explain what you mean by "double light source". I'm using one overhead light source for the photos and I thought if this were an effect due to lighting that moving the coin relative the light source would eliminate it. Thanks, H

HGK, without seeing the doubling anywhere on the word LIBERTY I am going to side with Coop. If you are without a shadow of a doubt seeing the splits then I would send it in for attribution.

It's missing the extra thickness on the date that DDO-002 has. And as pointed out before, the lighting may be creating these "splits". Not likely a DDO.

You can use just one light source, but there are other factors. Are you using a light source with several lights in the one source? Or you may have a secondary light issue. The secondary light source can be blocked easily. You just need to determine the direction of the light source and block it from hitting the coin while you are taking images. A piece of paper/facial tissue and tape can block or diffuse that light source. Just prevent the unwanted light source. On the image of LIBERTY I'm seeing a stronger light source at 12:00 and a weaker light source at 6:00. Note the top and bottoms of these devices on LIBERTY you posted.
