So... notches are a good thing, correct? They are a good indication of a doubled die?

Quote: John, on both sides? Not sure what you mean. It is not an RPM,it is split plating. I see the notches on the reverse but not 100% convinced it is a DDR. Coop... John1

mint mark is just split plating issue, I see notches on reverse, maybe just to minor to list as DDR,or, are you down to one light source yet on your usb microscope? And do you have a filter on the light source? Edited: inside of mint mark is just showing broken chips off the punch (tool used to stamp mm into the dies)

I think not a doubled die. The "T" (second to last photo) clearly shows MD as does the "E" (seventh photo). The rest might be Die Deterioration.

Can't say for sure what is going on with the reverse. The images are too far and too close to see for sure what is going on. We need a in between image for the reverse. There maybe notching or just Machine Doubling on the corners. When you look too close, the full amount affected is tossed out. Need images of The full words on reverse. ONE, CENT, UNITED, STATES OF, AMERICA. That way we can see if it is showing spread or not. Even the 1983 DDR-002's is hard to tell when you look to closely at them.
