I realize I shouldn't have bothered with this specimen at all, overall seemingly a very common, probably early 4th century bronze in mediocre condition. It was purported to be an issue of Constantius I but not further attributed. I thought it'd be a snap to nail this one down, but (much to my embarrassment) I'm having a very hard time doing so. It seems obvious to me that it's a Sol reverse, and I take the mint mark to be "SD" (Serdica). But I'm just not seeing a match based upon those characteristics, not just for Constantius I but also his son and grandsons. 21.5 by 19.5 mm in size. Colligo ergo sum

Maybe with the R X F in the fields a Rome mint?

I don't think its Serdica - I read 'R P' in the exergue, which would support Palouche's idea of Rome mint (Rome Prima, first/primary officina at Rome).

My first impression was "RP" also, and then I changed my mind, probably should've stuck with that initial interpretation. But under Rome I still don't see a Sol reverse for Constantius I. I'm still working on this, though. RIC VI 332 for Constantine I is close.

it's not Constantius I, but his son Constantine I and it is from Rome.

RIC VII, p. 299, 27: In the "Obv." column "1" is the legend IMP CONSTANTINVS PF AVG; "(B4)" is bust right, laureate, draped and cuirassed. In the "Reverse" column, "as no. 18" is "Sol rad. stg. l., raising r. hand, globe in l., chlamys across l. shoulder".

Yup, RIC VII 27. Don't know why I missed it, obvious match.

Mine is a little more off centre than yours and is from the 3rd officina.
