Probably a "details" coin, but it wasn't expensive and I liked how much of the original design was extant. Not sure what the issue is with various portions of the reverse legends.

EF and AU cleaned? Where do you see wear guys? Weakly struck. UNC cleaned IMO. Brown this one up. 62/3 all day.

I believe cleaned, also. As to wear, it's at least high AU, in my southern opinion.

I considered the wear on the eye brow and various small dings on the obverse. Am cautious to call something like this a mint coin because one of the distinguishing characteristics would be evaluating the remaining luster. There is no luster to give a sense of actual handling.

EF - AU * The reverse shows wear on the crown. The hair and dress details also show wear. It has been cleaned recently, for sure. I am far from expert, but I have been looking at a lot of the Maritime Vickies as of late. The Nova Scotia half & large cents are the most interesting with the best die clashes, cracks and grease clogs. The coin you have there is a that of a slightly higher sought "small rosebud" variety. If you really are a Lucky Cuss, you will find an 1862 in that condition.

Correction on the rosebud. The1861's have two variances. The 64's are all the same.
I mentioned the 1862's because they are much more rare and hold a significantly higher value. 1861 was the first official year this coin was issued.

mid-high AU

NOVA SCotia soft (typical)

interesting E in onE cent

1864s in this grade are common enough, $25/$30 a good deal, $35/$45 fair, over $45 not so much.

I agree that there is wear and so would grade it AU...it can be re-toned to get away from the cleaned look. I've kept many a US Large Cent close to my body for extended periods of time or place them on the window sill to expose to the environment. They come out real nice looking.
