Hey everyone, thought I'd post here as I want a straight answer lol instead of the question being ignored and only being told that my coin has been sanded and cleaned #128528;. I want to know if this is the denticle clash error 1921 half penny? T.I.A

I think that Coin has been "sanded and cleaned" hehe. I don't see any "denticle clash",just a run of the mill, plain old vanilla 1921 Half in poor condition. After saying that there are others on here that will know for sure.

When I first looked at it, my honest opinion was that the coin is bent, indicated by the uneven wear above the "Half Penny". It is possible that there is a die crack there, but it can be difficult to ascertain when so much wear is evident. I have wrestled with this notion with a few of my George V coins. You need to look at it higher magnification. If you can see an accumulation of debris around the structure at higher magnification (ie dirt or verdigris, or something like that), then it is possible it is a die crack. I don't see any denticle clash. If you think it's a denticle clash, Get another George V coin, an place it on top of the structure, and see if the diameter matches the shape of your structure. same

I think that at some time in the past, someone has tried to 'make' a 'denticle' coin, but has not done a very good job of it. Here is an image of 3 that I have, so you can maybe make a comparison. If you still think that your coin is an example of the denticle, could you enlarge and crop the same area and post the result,

Quote: I think that at some time in the past, someone has tried to 'make' a 'denticle' coin, but has not done a very good job of it. I'm not sure,to me it looks like its taken a hit somewhere along the line with that depression,as already mentioned that's often where bent/buckled Coins fatigue.

Well, I think I've changed my mind and agree with SpriggsyMac that it is/was a denticle clash coin, but with all the damage that's happened to it, any premium of value has been lost. Well done for sticking to your guns. I've found another image of one more of mine.

Thanks Nevol, once I get that feeling that it is what it is then I usually go against what others say but I had to double check on here because as we all know, Facebook has some good knowledgeable collectors but ohhhh soooo many fools.
Thanks again guys, away it goes to hide for now.
