It's worth only face value but you could keep it for an educational reference. Now that you know what caused it if you run into another one one you can compare the two.

@1962penny, as the die fatigues it widens creating a Doubled appearance. Sometimes it it can have a mushy appearance, sometimes it can have a little bit of definition.

thanks john! you guys are a wealth of information and I appreciate all the help! How can you guys so quickly discern between the three types (DD, MD, and DDD?) Just years of practice? Its amazing.
