I have doubts on authenticity

I am not in any way an expert of the die design characteristics of this series, but this sort of check against a known genuine coin needs to be done. Red Book lists two design varieties: large and small '3's in the date. For my part, I am not really happy with the surface texture from what I see in the pictures. Weight and exact diameter needs to be checked against known documented specifications, and a magnet test and a ping tone test would help to determine authenticity.

I also question the authenticity. there are several items that stick out. the rim reeding on the reverse especially from 6-9 oclock are not consistent in depth and length. the stars do not look to be correct and there is a rim separation which can be seen on the obverse. I'm not an expert of counterfeits so lets see if anyone else chimes in

I have great doubts it is genuine: the obverse partly shows a beaded border which is never seen on early draped bust coins.

Looks Fake to me. The edge looks abnormally sharp for a coin with that amount of wear. Also, the surfaces look whizzed and artificially tampered with. Deep inspection recommended.

Very Fake-100%.
The reeding reminds me of 8 reales reedings overlapped on top of lettering, maybe they didn't change the collar before switching to making fake Bust dollars...

There must be a Bust Dollar expert on the forum who could settle this quickly.

I'll prove it. There are only 2 types of date for the 1803, large 3 and small 3. This is neither which proves it.

On the coin in question, I notice that there is a double rim below the date.

Thank you all for your input. I took your advice and didn't buy it. Weight was also of by almost two grams which was a give away. Didn't know that when I posted here. Someone else bought it though, 550$.
I guess I'll have to wait to start my exotic coins collection.

Wow, $550. Someone got badly suckered on that one. Apart from the date the reverse reeding was also way off. Other problems as well but those were the 2 that jumped out.
