I ran across a 1968 S Lincoln Cent today that is exactly like this one...

It appears to have been struck 3 times also. My question is could both these coins be machine doubling/tripling or were the dies triple struck and there's more of these out there?

The copper miner,
First to community, second you are best to start your own thread with pictures to get the attention your topic deserves.
It is possible your coin was struck by the same die! and I am certain there are other similar MD's out there, plenty!.
As our expert coop stated at the beginning of this thread:

Quote:
Looks like single classic Machine Doubling. They coins are only (normally struck once and ejected. So this all happened during one strike

So we would love to see some images from your coin, in a separate thread.

To learn more in the differences between MD and a doubled die, take a look at this thread:

Take a look and comment. It will bring the thread back up so others can look at it again. Seeing is understanding.
