Fairly strong doubled die with a nice bar above the 7 and a flicky-do above the 0. Found it tonight in a roll marked 1970-S that had almost all 1971-S coins in it except this one and a normal 1969-S (sadly). 1970-D Lincoln Memorial cent doubled die DDO-003    |

Nice find. I haven't found one of these for my "flicky-do" collection yet.....  Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups.
We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.

Hey Commander, Usually when I find something in a B/U roll I end up with a couple of them, but this was the only 70-D in the roll at all, let alone DDO. I also checked and this is a new one for me as I don't even have a circulated one anywhere. Given how strong it is, I'm wondering if it's not a rarity as would be hard to miss when searching. Thanks for all the kind words! Looking to head out (finally) for the summer field work on Saturday so this will likely be one of last couple I post before leaving for an undermined number of weeks. |

Very,very nice addition...strong bar above 7 would put it at stage B, however I see the chip on the column for stage C, so would you put it at a late stage B cent? Good luck on your research trip, I hope the bat populations are growing..Bats don't have wi-fi ability on their radar senses do they? |
