Has Anybody Seen A Gold Thaler Restrike?!...

A standard silver thaler is just under an ounce. But looking at the pictures, you don't have a coin. That's some sort of medal. Report this Post to the Staff

Arkie Pillar of the Community United States 2637 Posts	Posted 06/08/2019 10:51 pm It is my understanding that, before 1975, when it was illegal to own many gold coins in the US, it was legal to own gold medallions that were not actual coins or restrikes, and that "Maria Theresa thalers" were minted in gold at that time for the US market.
