Nice lot of Hungarian coins you have ther DL20K, that country is one of my favourites - having recently been there I have a full set of modern coinage but not much else.

In fact, there are very few Hungarian coins in this lot. Compared to Austrian or French, for example. They're much less available here.
If you want to trade and have good coins of the same period from other countries feel free to PM me. Or can't you do it yet?

See, you're so right about the foreign coins. Who is interested in them? People who aren't from the US!

To be honest what I've collected is a meagre amount of old tat compared to some of the stuff I've seen on here. As much as some of your foreign stuff appeals to me I can't offer you anything decent in return anyway. Unless you accept circulated standard coins, where the only thing special about them is the native country? Don't even think I've got anything that is above VF, and that might be generous...

Let is not compare our meagre collections to what is posted here. I've realised that I'll never get anywhere near a full date set of any US coin, and also never get any higher grade ones here.. but after adding what I already had stashed away over the years and upgrading some of those with what's currently available to buy, putting them neatly in new 2x2s and non-pvc album pages, the whole lot might look more like a collection That's how the World Set was born You could try building around modern coins. Have modern Hungary - get other surrounding countries (Austria would be the obvious one due to historical reasons), exchange doubles for Hungary types you don't have.. this way you can build something interesting. Having a complete set of nice Hungarian postwar coins - would be something you could show off here. I'm still waiting for many of them to come my way Make a trade list, maybe someone is looking for the particular types you've got. Not all people require unc coins, some (especially those who collect by date) are fine with EF or even VF ones.. OK now I feel like lecturing you, sorry if it looks like it.

They're all sitting in bankbags in "classes" Europe, Britain and rest of the world. I've been looking for plain album "2x2"s as it seems that would help look after them better. Quote: You could try building around modern coins. that's exactly what I do do - anything modern from another country basically. Got nothing before 1950. I also like Euros, and have many spare but I doubt anyone would trade for them. Perhaps we can see if we can deal when I get more posts.

Alakazam when you say that most of your coins are not in good condition, is this because you run into similar problems that I run into with British coins.
I find that you can only find good examples of the current year coins and sometimes that is even a bit of a challenge since they do not see to use coin roles in the UK. They just use coin bags that allow the coins to come into contact all of the time.
I believe it is 100 1p's or 5p's; 50 2p's, 10p's or 20's; 20 50p or 1 pounds, and 10 2 pounds coins in a bag.
I think that the use of bags does quite a bit of damage to UK circulating coins.

Well most of my stuff has been picked up by me on my travels, and I've got some old stuff given to me by other people who aren't interested in it - old Francs and Escudos, Ore and Koruna. So most of it I find on holiday is early 2000s, and the stuff given to me is from the '80s and '90s. So naturally it's just seen more wear and tear by the time I receive it. Well I used to work in a shop, and was always asking the manager if I could swop my own money for foreign money or good quality native stuff that I saw in the till. Where there's a will there's a way. We used to get some good stuff, cause big companies like that get stuff delivered fresh from the bank. But you still get new fresh coins with ugly scratches on them.

They don't use rolls in Poland as well. But I know that our coins are lighter, and British are heavy. Heavier coins = more marks, as I've read.
Well an album (any non-pvc one really) is better as it allows you to view what you've got easily, and your coins don't get more and more marks..

Yeh I'm looking into one. On a side note, I do have lots of British commemoratives on the £2 and 50p if anyone was interested in them. Guess I'll put a trade list up sometime when I've got more posts.

If they are straight from mint (bank) bags, with no fingerprints etc. then of course. I am willing to trade for those. You have quite nice designs by the way.

I just picked them up out of change and kept them. Theyr by no means perfect - hundreds of tiny scratches and some smudges, but I could get good ones from the bank for trading purposes in the future. Yes, the designs are rather interesting. And I find it cool because I've learnt about most of the events on them throughout my school life.

the bank will have them with bagmarks as well, but at least with no smudges/fingerprints - and that's what's the ugliest in new coins.
