There's no listing on VV for an RPM for this year, but take a look at this and give me your thoughts.

Machine doubling. Note the flattened date, it is showing the same die push from MD on date and mintmark areas.

Machine Doubling was my first thought as well. But since MD usually follows the outline of the device, I was unsure because the doubling diverges from the MM on the NE portion of the "P".

Also, I don't see any reduction in the size of the MM.

Here's what it supposed to look like:

I'm pretty sure it is MD, as well. As coop mentioned, it can also be seen on the date.
