Didn't get chance to give a grade but, VF-20 would have been better, nice one though, we have an F-12, hard date to find.

I just had my wife look at this thread. She took one look at the OPs coin, and immediately said "F-15. What's the question?" I made the mistake of asking the grade on her 1873. She replied "Not good enough."

Memo to self: never ask.
Second memo to self: start shopping now.

Good guess from your wife! Easy-breezy! This one is a tough date to find in any condition. I purchased once another 1873 half dollar. Gave it to my father in law. He is from Port Aux Basque Nfld. When I see him again, ill take a photo of it. I Believe it to be vf20-25.
