I've got this 2 cent, and it looks to be in great condition however the corrosion and ED will bring it to details. Do you think that's an accurate grade? Please let me know your thoughts.

Coin looks au58 at least and more likely MS63BN. The green looks superficial and verdicare might get rid of it altogether. But we won't know what the surface looks like under the green until you remove it. Does not look corroded from what can be seen. Nice coin

Wow MS63? That's a high one. I thought a coin had to have luster to be MS. I'll see if I can find some Verdicare.

Looks like some of the light brown patches to the left of the obverse may be from prior attempts to remove surface green areas. One of the benefits of verdicare is that it not only removes verdigris but also conditions copper surfaces to re-oxidize with a new, natural patina.
Luster on copper UNC coins is tricky. Especially on brown coins. When oxygen in the air oxidizes the surface of the coin, on some brown examples, the oxidized layer is not reflective especially as it gets darker. Tough to tell about luster from pictures, but the surfaces look good to me on this coin outside the discolored patches.

Best of luck, but I'd be thoroughly surprised if Verdi-care would more than superficially improve this coin.

I'm not sure if it would even get a DETAILS grade. It might be body bagged.
With that thought in mind it might fare better if it were cleaned!?

I'll try the distilled water first, and if that doesn't work then I'll try the verdicare as soon as possible.

Yep at a minimum AU58 if it restores nicely you might see a MS grade on this one, I'd say MS62 just due to the little hit on the reverse. I'm a bit worried the spotty areas will leave a discolored area after treatment. Verdi-Care is your best bet on this one, probably going to need a long soak and maybe a couple, just use enough to saturate the coin and cover it in a jar so it doesn't evaporate, keep recharging it for a day or so. Post some photos after you have tried a restoration.

Sound good. Gonna take me a while to get my hands on some verdicare but I'll post updates when I do.

I'll consider that. It doesn't damage the coin in any way?
