*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***Hi everyone. Long time no talk. I just bought an 09S VDB from a LCS and I'd like to hear what you guys think. Does it look legit? If so, Should I get it graded / how do you think it would grade? Thanks so much. I'll let others comment on authenticity, grade wise it's a VG details coin with environmental damage

Onedollarbillnut, thank you for the reply. Are you saying you think it would get a details grade for environmental damage because of the bit of verdigris on the front? If so, do you think something that small could be mitigated with a conservation, enabling it to not get a details grade?

G-06 Details . I wouldn't bother to get it graded . The coin has a lot of obvious issues including the Messed up VDB .

I mostly want to have it graded to check and prove authenticity. Also, this is my second most valuable coin behind my '55 double die, unless the details grade would make it worth a lot less than I think it's worth. I figured a collector would pay $500 for it.

Because the 1909-S VDB is counterfeited so frequently, it's essential to have it authenticated by a TPG. Even if it comes back in a details slab, it will still establish authenticity.

I'll have to send it in with my 55 Double Die. I've never done it before and it's just scary to send my two most valuable coins through the mail.

T-Bop, does that wink face imply that you think it's fake?

Oh. Well I still want to get it authenticated and possibly conserved if it will help.
