This dime weighs 1.88g.

On the reverse: is the area indicated a clash (slightly misaligned)?

On the obverse: is the area indicated an IDB?

Looks like a missing clad reverse to me. The mark on the head could be a struck through or a flat die chip. (I've not seen a flat die chip, so I'm leaning more towards a struck through. But the weakness of the strike makes me feel it is a missing clad on the reverse. (and color) The color, should match the edge color. Is the edge thinner near the motto area?

Thanks Coop

I have no doubts that it is missing clad. Expected weight missing clad = Dime weight missing one clad layer = 1.863 g +/- 0.091 g; missing two clad layers = 1.453 g +/- .161 g
The coin weighs 1.88g, as I mentioned, which is well within tolerance for missing one clad layer.

Expected thickness of clad layer: Dime clad layer (75% +/- 2.5% Cu and 25% +/- 2.5% Ni) = 180.34 µm (+/-25.4 µm)

Thicknesses:
@ motto = 1.03mm
@ struck through = 1.05mm
@ date = 1.08mm
@ R in LIBERTY = 1.03

I am also thinking that the feature on the reverse may be a slightly misaligned die clash and would appreciate any comments about that.

Here is an edge photo

Weight chart.

The thinness on that area would make those devices on both sides of the rim thinner.

On his head, that's definitely a forming Die Chip. I can see the Die Crack.

fioti - thanks for the overlay. That site is my first step when I suspect a clash. That overlay is why I am thinking this is a clash - just slightly misaligned. I was hoping someone who sees my question could confirm my attribution.

I was surprised that the clash showed on the copper core, but never had I given any thought to that possibility.
