This is not a doubled die. This is extreme die wear. A doubled die is created during the hub process of the die. This die has been normal most of its life. But the die wear is breaking down the die. So it is not a doubled die. A doubled die creates coins from the beginning to the ending of that die.

I know my pics have been poor so far which makes it more difficult for you guys to come to a conclusion on a question sometimes but I'm getting better. Plus, I think I have a way better idea what kinds of pics you want to see for certain things. That's why my name is NewbieCoiner808...gotta start somewhere. Anyways, since this coin (in my opinion) is a class 2, I went back and looked at some pics of a coin I posted a few weeks ago that had a lot of people on the fence (but ultimately was determined as MD by the majority). After looking at it again, there's 2 reasons I don't think it is MD and actually think it is class 2 also. First, the doubling doesn't have "steps" or flat surfaces like MD. Second, all of the devices are moving directly away from the rim perfectly. I'll post another pic incase anyone has a change of heart lol.

I just don't see how this coin doesn't fall into this category. Every example I've seen looks like mine.

The drum stick is directly above the devices in the pic and that's why it is also moving away from the rim. Maybe I need to take some in-person lessons. Does anyone know if Portland has anything? This is frustrating me

Another reason I don't think it's Die Deterioration is bc almost all of the devices on that side of the coin look like this so that seems to be an unlikely coincidence? Plus with the drumstick smudging away from the rim in the strongest area, just seems to make it even more legit? I just really thought this was the one:(

Note on TRUST, the direction of the Die Deterioration is flowing. The closest direction to the rim. The is die wear on the last 'T' is the strongest, because of the closer to the rim.

Sorry, I was talking about Die Deterioration on the original coin and pics on this topic. We all know that I'm probably the dumbest member in this forum but Die Deterioration doesn't seem like the issue with the 1976 coin? Too many devices are doubled

Question: How many devices showing what you call as doubling, are showing that towards the rim direction?

I see splits. I vote DD. Nice find. What do you use to take pics? They're very up close and personal

I like your vote but I definitely want to see some more opinions before we know if it's a celebration or not lol

Just some cheap random 1000X I bought off Amazon. It's more about getting the lighting and angles right from what I've learned so far
