Thanks Grapes! 1964 D DDR-002 is the only one listed with the RDV-001. I think this is a pretty rare bird.

I do not know which either - but definitely has the notched stars. Nice find. BTW - pics seem to show a Type I FG:

Thank you, David! I have quite a few Kennedy's and I couldn't believe my eyes when I louped it. There are no pics on Conneca's site so I had to go by their master list. Pretty lucky that there is only one DDR with the RDV-001. That narrowed the choice down pretty quick. I'm sure there are quite a few of these but it only shows a population of one.

There were a lot of issue with the dies that year. 1964 obverse Quote:
1964 50¢ Pr WMDO-001 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WMDO-002 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WWHO-001 Doubled Working Hub 1964 50¢ WWHO-002 Doubled Working Hub 1964 50¢ WWHO-003 Doubled Working Hub 1964 reverse 1964 50¢ WMDR-001 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WMDR-002 Doubled Master Die 1964 50¢ WWHR-001 Doubled Working Hub 1964 50¢ WWHR-002 Doubled Working Hub 1964-D obverse Since WMDO-001 is only on P-Mint proof coins, there are no D-Mint examples of WMDO-001 and the D-Mint listings begin with WMDO-002. 1964-D 50¢ WMDO-002 Doubled Master Die 1964-D 50¢ WWHO-001 Doubled Working Hub 1964-D 50¢ WWHO-002 Doubled Working Hub 1964-D: reverse 1964-D 50¢ WWHR-001 Doubled Working Hub 1964-D 50¢ WWHR-002 Doubled Working Hub 1964-D 50¢ WWHR-003 Doubled Working Hub
No images of what was the issue, but I'm betting the stars were the problem.

Makes you wonder how this affected the type 1 RDV-001 dies that were used at the Denver mint? There is only one DDR from Denver that used the RDV-001. Or is this in reference to the RDV-002 dies? Were the 1964 D WWHR-1,2 and 3 from the RDV-001 or RDV-002 dies?

Honestly, I have not due to the MDR-001, UVC-039 confirms doubling on the stars from K-4 through K-10. Also, on my coin there are 13 stars that show doubling above the clouds not counting the three below the clouds. Is it your opinion that the MDR-001, UVC-039 is the correct attribution?

My opinion is the photos show a minor 64D DDR. Send it to James Wiles for an attribution if you disagree. Larry Nienaber

I agree with you, it is definitely minor by any stretch. I guess with not actually being able to physically see what is on the VV's Master List we, novices like me, have a tougher time without knowing what die markers there are to look for.
