Those are called Roller Lines. Common on the 1980 LMC's.

Well there is a difference between Roller lines and a woody. The roller lines are on the surface. A woody is mixed through the planchet. Why is that different? Roller lines will wear off in circulation. A woody does not wear off.

to CCF. To answer your question,no not a woody. It is roller lines. Yes kinda common in the 80's era,but I do keep them when both sides have nice lines like your coin does and in above average condition like your coin is. If I found it it would go into a 2x2.

Thanks for all the replies. It is in a 2x2. It like most of my coins are pocket change. I just love finding old coins. I knew when I found it it was a keeper.

Interesting factoid. Every time I have seen one for sale they label them as woodies. I guess ya learn something new everyday. What causes Roller Lines,Thanks
