First Post. This old world coin is about worn out. Does anyone recognize what country this comes from and approximate date? Thanks for your input! I used the image optimizer and it turned the image sideways and I couldn't figure out how to turn it back.

Look into French coins Louis XVI- I'm guessing 1780, but the image is poor.
Many look similar so the diameter and an accurate weight in grams would help.

@WM, first welcome to CCF. Second, you coin looks like an 18th Century French Liard. Here is a link to the numista page for it:

French copper of Louis XVI, Aix mint (&), probably 1780.

Denomination depends on size; could be a liard (22 mm), 1/2 sol (25 mm), or sol (29 mm). The sol is the most common, so it's more likely that, but the other two are not particularly rare either.

EDIT: incidentally, for future reference, the image optimizer has a function for rotating images into the correct position - it's the arrow in the upper left of the picture.

Also incidentally, to the forum!
