Looking through my collection closer and found this 1955D Lincoln Wheat cent that has what looks like a tail of a six coming off the top of the 5 in the date. Tried searching for it online and couldn't find it anywhere. As always thank you for your help and guidance in advance. It's always appreciated.

Looks like a small die chip to me. Just creating the illusion of the tail of a six.

Definitely a Die Chip, since it's raised above the surfaces.

I agree with die chip, but it also looks like it might be a hit that folded, up and over the displaced copper.

I'm in the die chip camp on this one. Very nice pics by the way.

I am in the looks like it took a hit camp.
Nice pictures Valhallabound.

Is that a clash mark behind the head?

I don't see a clash lining up with it. Die gouge of some sort?

I agree with the die chip and Machine Doubling theory. I see evidence of MD on other digits on the date.
