The minute I held the coin it felt differently so I weight it and it comes up short? Not much wear on the coin could a layer be missing? Its not shiny in comparison to other dimes produced at the Denver Mint. Would something like this even be worth anything?

2.27 grams is normal. .09 +/- grams tolerance. Rolled thin stock? What does the reeds look like?

I wonder if it was cleaned with acid, and that accounts for the 0.11 grams difference from standard weight.

Thanks for the pic of the reeds. Looks pretty normal, but maybe a bit thin. Leaning towards roll thin planchet/circulation wear.

Guessing thin planchet. Is the entire coin of uniform thickness?

Have you tried using a magnet on it?

Yes the whole coin is consistent with the thinness and yes I did try a magnets Even though I see the mixed metal which is why I thought maybe a layer could be missing.
