Quote: So it was minted in Europe (England probably) We also have possibilities like Euro coins of Andorra (non-monarchy) that were minted in Spain (a monarchy)? But even more important, I am confused whether the coin was minted in Europe, issued in Europe, or both? Edit: Having read the post just before mine by a couple of minutes, I see we have a coin minted by, say, the U.K. or Netherlands or ? for a place in the Western Hemisphere, like a small Commonwealth nation in the case of the U.K., or a former Dutch colony... or maybe some other possibilities.

Yes, and we are looking at 1976 and on. I'll look at British mint issues.

Well, the GameMaster is a Canadian. He has love of the crown in his veins. So I'm thinking its going to be a British minted coin.
As of 2019, there are 16 Commonwealth realms: Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, The Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Canada, Grenada, Jamaica, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, and the United Kingdom.
The British Overseas Territories are 14 territories under the jurisdiction and sovereignty of the United Kingdom. They are remnants of the British Empire that have not been granted independence or have voted to remain British territories. They are: Anguilla, Bermuda, the British Antarctic Territory, the British Indian Ocean Territory (BIOT), the British Virgin Islands (BVI), the Cayman Islands, the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia on Cyprus, the Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, the Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena and its dependencies (Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha), South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Is the issuing authority one of the 16 Commonwealth realms listed above?

OK, as we parse the British option, let's also remember that coins are issued under East Caribbean States, which is a mixture of those two groups (Antigua & Barbuda, St Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, St Vincent and Grenadines, but also Anguilla and Montserrat) I do not know where those coins are minted. In fact, I can't find a list anywhere of countries whose coins are produced by The Royal Mint.

Well I'll ask. Is the coin minted by The Royal Mint (located in England/Wales)?
