I got this obw roll of 1988 p Lincoln's a while back from a novice seller and just getting time to look at them. The first few coins were so clean I looked a little closer and they look like proofs. They don't have any bubbles dots and minimal hits. I'm nearly positive they are proof strike but it looks like they should have a S mint mark. What do you guys think about this?

The coins pictured are from the same roll. 8 look like proofs. Am I missing something?

This is a comparison pic one with die scratches and the other smooth. The coin on the right doesn't have the proof like appearance.

Mint state business strike (proof like). Take the best of them and put them in 2x2's. They also have a real nice toning going on. Make sure to check for the doubled ear and the RDV reverse.

Agree they're not proofs, but the first one in particular is a gem.

Thanks guys. The first 8 in the roll are like that one. They stand out. Tons of reflection and don't have the pale color of the normal 88 coins.
Rest in Peace

You fell into a real nice OBW roll of them .Congrats . They are not proof or proof planchets . Exceptional business strikes . I would take 3 examples out of the 8 coins and if we think they are 67's or 68's then I would send them in for grading . In the mean time holder those bad boys in flips or 2x2's

Needs to grade 68 to justify all costs involved.

Thanks t-bop and e&v. I've got the best one picked out I think. I need to submit a few more coins, I'll 2x2 them for now!

My only question is why are they thicker than the rest of the coins in the roll? Here's another pic of the edges.
