on back of 1969 d penny right corner of house is supposed to be the FG intials. This penny is missing the FG intials. Ive searched this out can anyone explain this further?

if it doesn't they say its worth something if all you see is three dots instead of intials.

@k, ok hmm, the FG initials *are* on this cent (see detail below). Perhaps you mis-posted the pics and this is actually a different coin? Also, since you are asking about a potential error, I'm going to recommend to the mods that your thread be moved to the correct location in CCF. That way, we can get the most eyes on it.

FG is plainly visible in your pic. If it was missing,it needs to be totally gone and it would be a Grease Filled Die or over abraded die issue. Same with the floating roof. Little if any added value.

On the new pic, you can see a bit of where they are. It's possible that it's either missing because of a grease-filled die, or they got (over-)polished off of the die.

thank you because I'm not seeing it either. gonna do some more research. I just started doing this and been going through some coins we had. dont know what these are worth or if anything. but has been a trip......fun doing this...never know what you may have...need all the help I can get.....

research on different coin...there's no errors on this one..even if the roof was floating and the FG was gone,very little if none added value...good luck..have fun...happy hunting
