They sold all they were going to make. Kitco was complaining of a shortage of several of the bullion products, as no one is getting them.

Planchet supplies are currently running short so the Mint temporarily halted production of the proofs so they could cover the bullion coin contracts(although supplies of them have been rationed)

You can still order the Uncirculated ASE.......and I happened to see the "2008 United States Mint Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set (XA2) " on the Mint website.......one ASE, one Sacejeawea, and four Presidential dollars.....
But the proofs......well......whatever happens.....if it's temporary or not.....I ALREADY GOT MINE !....

I wish they would put an ASE Proof in the 2008 American Legacy Set.....(not yet on the schedule until later in the year)
I have the '07 Am. Leg. Set and it just seems like that ASE Proof would look spectacular in there !!...

Quote:
Contains proof versions of all 2007 circulating coins as well as the five quarters from the 50 State Quarters Program (Montana, Washington, Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah) and the four $1 coins from the first year of the Presidential $1 Coin Program (Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison).

This set also includes proof versions of the Jamestown 400th Anniversary Silver Dollar and the Little Rock Central High School Desegregation Silver Dollar. It is the most complete offering of 2007 United States Mint coins.

The Bald Eagle Comm.s will look nice in the '08 version though....
Don't you guys think the ASE Proof belongs in this set ?...(since they make the claim that the Am. Leg. Set is "the most complete offering of coins for that year ?

......Well.....I didn't mean, nor do they claim, that it should include EVERY coin minted !!......
I just thought that the ASE Proof would be a nice addition to this "most complete set" offered by the Mint.
The Am. Leg. Set already costs $150.00...(last year's price anyway).....so....they shouldn't add TOO much more to it !....
Maybe the Sets would be a little more desirable and still affordable then ?....dunno....
