I have a John Adams Gold Dollar that hasn't got a year on it thats says year it was made? it has the president years but no year it was made. Can anyone tell are these coins supposed to have the year it was made stamped on or did they not put a date?

Check the edge. It should have the date.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Date is on the edge, John Quincy Adams dollars were made in 2008.
And just as an fyi, it is not gold. It is copper with manganese brass cladding, so just gold-colored.

There are no reeds on the edge of this coin. Check the edge!

Maybe the date and stuff has worn off the edge though. Checking the edge really isn't a sure fire way to find out. If ti's spent some time vending, it will be obliterated.

As everybody else has said, the edge. If you can't see it there, and sometimes it is difficult to read, then it may have been worn off. It is also technically possible that it was left off. That is a known variety for Washington, Adams, and Tyler and others.
