Found this one a few months back. Shouldn't there be more out there because it's a large break? Is this like a wounded eagle error?

If you are talking about the line from his boot to the letter C,that is a linear trail gas bubble.

Sounds like mint damage is the verdict. Oh well. It's a good looking coin though. Thanks guys

These seem to show up after the strike. Otherwise they would be flattened.

Got this from a 2009 bu roll. I wonder how much heat was needed to start the degrading process. Will more of these pop up over time?

Nope. It is just a bad side affect. If you want to save an example to show to a new collector, you could save it for an educational piece.
