El_Mad_Mex New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 07/10/2019 8:44 pm came across this quarter in my change... not sure why its like this but its super grainy and fades dark or light depending on lighting and angle... it's also lighter than usual... possibly dipped in acid or a fake? it also appears to have some dye error on reverse by end of CONNECTICUT. thanks in advance! It was probably dipped in acid, since the weight is not correct. Normal weight is supposed to be 5.6 grams, and yours weighs 5.4 grams. Errers and Varietys. Report this Post to the Staff

Second, I believe that the mint tolerance is 5.67 +/- 0.23 grams for clad Washington quarters, so this one is pretty much in spec, especially considering the wear and tear.
