hey guys..here's a pic..sorry I wasn't sure how to put the pic in my previous posting :/.

Hi guys I was coin roll hunting and found an unusual penny. The back is normal however the front is practically blank. When I was sorting I thought it was blank till I held it in the light and saw a very faint yet flat impression of Lincoln and the front etc. However, the front is very smooth and flat and it doesn't look scratched at all whatsoever..also the rim is not flattened down..the face is just like totally smooth and flat. ..any ideas?

tou8gh to tell as the photo is a little dark, but if the weight is consistent with a regular cent it might be a late stage die cap strike through; see https://goccf.com/t/35002
to see if yours resembles the one I have. Good Luck!

Thanks so much for the link!..yes that is exactly what it looks like in the light..it's like a ghost image ...not scratched up..just very very faint and pretty flat on the surface of the heads side. Back is normal.. Thank You! :D

This should be posted in the error/variety coin forum.

Best I can tell it looks like it is struck through something - either a late stage die cap or a heavy build up of grease.
