Just looking for more opinions on some of the abnormalities that I see on this coin. The mint mark shows no true lettering, there appears to be d/d on obverse and reverse, and in the date. I am curious if anyone can give me their opinion whether there is or is not. On reverse, next to left side along the leaf, there looks like lettering or numbers. Haha, but for real. In between sets of lines I cannot make out what it spells, but there seems to be wording there. Any advice? Watching youtube videos makes me really question some of the potential errors I see, so want to be sure. Thoughts?

@R&F5, with the level of circulation wear on this coin, the pattern of little bumps and gouges certainly can to lead you down a pathway where you are seeing things that aren't there (i.e. Pareidolia). For this coin, I see a broken post on the mint mark (causing it to be struck with the middle part filled in), but otherwise it looks pretty normal to me.

The thing you have to remember with YouTube is at the end of the day it's a business for them and they have to keep putting up content and get views to get paid. Everything is "coins worth money!" Or "Amazing ultra rare new find!!" When in reality it really just about them getting people to click on their video so they can make some money. It doesn't matter much if the info is bunk or good as long as it gets them views.

I agree with Spence on your coin. A well circulated 35 D cent with a lot of bangs and bumps and a filled in D likely from a die chip on the mintmark.

I still fill like the photos don't really do the information and marks any justice!
the mint mark looks almost like a dot that is possibly covering a D mint and/or an S mint and that's no joke. I see markings that people call d/d that looks just like or better then some of the stuff youtube shows also I have that official Red Book that has images in it and they seem along the same as the photos in the Red Book . Either way I am just tring to learn as I go, so thanks to those off you will ¡#8721;1
