coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/19/2019 6:07 pm The strike was from a normal die. After the strike the devices were altered on the coin in a milla-second. So why is the not a doubled die. The normal strike happened, the Machine Doubling happened, from a normal die. If it were a doubled die, the devices would be enlarged, by the die because of the doubling on the the die. Thus the term doubled die. But on your coin the machine caused the Machine Doubling that reduced the normal size of the devices. Here is a three way view. Machine doubled, normal device and a doubled die: Note how the MD reduces the over all size of the normal device? Then note the two images on the right side. Normal and the doubled die. The devices are doubled, because the doubling is on the die, not caused by the machine. A doubled die happens on every strike, because the doubling is on the die. But a doubled die can experience Machine Doubling also. So Machine Doubling is common. Caused by the machine. It is not a doubled die. Report this Post to the Staff

I was pretty sure this wasn't a doubled die but since I was sending coins to get attributed I had to ask. I haven't bought a CherryPickers Guide yet so I'll visit your website again.
