I took a 1981 Dime to my USB Microscope and see what looks like a double die when I zoomed in. I see that it has a Die Clash resulting on what looks like a triple rim by the word liberty. There appears to be a double die in all the words in the obverse of the coin, (Mint Mark, JS, In God We Trust, Liberty) and the ear looks to have extra lines than it should. The back looks fine aside from what looks like a faint S or B on the Torch by the other letter but not sure.
to CCF. I am not seeing a doubled die,but I see what might be DDD=die deterioration doubling aka a worn die. Give it a bit for a pro to chime in. Mean time enjoy our great site. John1
Some letters do appear to be doubled. Many also appear to be just what is called Machine Doubling. Either way, nice find. Please post photos right side up so I don't have to turn my monitor over again.
The lines on the fields is extreme die wear. The devices are damaged probably form vending machines and counting machines. Pretty much a spender. No premium. Sorry.
