@SR, that is a nice pick-up for face value! There is a small amount of silver in these War Nickels (35%) and in well-worn condition (like this one) sell for about a buck I think.

You should always hold a coin by the edge or rim. You should never place your fingers on the face or back of the coin. The oils in your fingers might in the future leave a fingerprint on the coin. Even if the coin is circulated it might decrease the value.
