I found this 2014-d LSC the other night at work, I googled to see if I could find any others like it, and I found a youtube video with an incredible similar effect on the obverse.

Guy from youtube *guessed* it to be a meltdown error? Idk, but I've never seen any damage like this before... thanks for the help!

What the heck is a "meltdown error"? Never heard of any thing like it by that name.

Also is the coin really that out of round or is it your len's or camera doing it?

@BMT, for sure it may have been exposed to high temperatures, but that would have happened after it left the mint, and therefore not an error (just damage).

Hahaha i'd Never heard of a "meltdown error" either, the guy in the YouTube video I linked referred to it as that

And it is incredibly raised in the circle around his head, The reverse is concave

I've seen this in an earlier posting. this is probably zinc rot. there was a problem with the planchet and the zinc is deteriorating. the coins a goner, probably shoot spend it before it dies...RIP

Severe heat damage, probably deliberate, just a spender.

Definitely a heat related PSD cent. Cool to look at but it holds no numismatic value other than a cent.
