Penney Company, In 1913, the Golden Rule chain was incorporated under the J.C. Penney name. The patent date on the token is 1914. That might seem a discrepancy, but apparently the stores continued to operate under the familiar Golden Rule name even after the parent company name had been changed. I'd still like to verify via Greever-Byars that this is the particular Golden Rule for which the tokens were supplied.
