Yes,die chip. No extra metal,it should weigh the normal weight.

Even the biggest Cud does not add extra metal. The metal is pre-determined by the planchet going in. X=Weight before, X=weight after strike. The only time there is extra metal is when a piece of the die is added to the coin:
Jefferson-Nickels-2004-P.-Excess-Metal? Looks like the die side of the die was facing the other direction, thus the indent on the coin.
