My feeling is this is one of the many contemporary counterfeits made because the reverse appears somewhat out of alignment and I cannot make the final date digit out. Weight is high at 121.2gn (7.854g). Diameter is a full 1mm small. Thickness is good at just over 1.8mm. Alignment is correct.

I appreciate experienced eyes to assess, thanks.

Difficult to determine because of the uneven strike and wear. It looks Regal to me.

I would go with contemporary counterfeit I'm afraid:

Regal should weigh 8.1 to 9.0g so 7.8g is well under.
Diameter should be 29mm - so a bit under
Date can only be 1766 or 1769, which would be obverse 1. The OP is broadly right but the proportions are wrong - most noticeably the stop above the head is too far back, and the stop opposite his nose is too high. (These could be just die variations but combined with the other issues suggest it must be Contemporary counterfeit.)

@PaddyB Thanks for your input. I used Numista as my reference (link in original post) that said the weight of this coin should be 7.4g and the diameter should be 28.2mm. Are these errors?
Also, whilst flicking between the obverse image of my coin and the one on Numista, (and also year 1769 pictures on Google images) the three "I"s are spaced much closer together on my coin than I see elsewhere, which must answer my question without doubt that this is a contemporary counterfeit.
Thanks again.

I got my figures from a Coincraft book specialising in Scotland, Ireland, Channel Islands etc coins from 1999. (The usual Coincraft books are printed on recycled bog-paper, but this one is quite good.) I can't guarantee they have got it right, but the higher figures are much more in line with English regal coins of the time, which would make sense.
The contemporary counterfeits are actually much more common than the regal coins, so maybe Numista (and therefore Krause) are being misled by the volume of lower weight coins?
